My name is Lara, and I’m a marine biologist, conservationist, and photographer based on the Isle of Man. Currently, I work as the marine conservation officer at Manx Wildlife Trust. Whilst some of my posts will reflect the work I do, others will share personal observations and thoughts.
From my first sea swim at 2 weeks old, I have always been captivated by nature, but my true passion lies beneath the waves. Living on the Isle of Man, the only entire nation UNSECO Biosphere Reserve, gives me unparalleled opportunities to immerse myself in nature. Wherever I am, I just need to look out the window or step out my door and there it is, in all its glory.

Photography has always been my primary creative outlet. I love nothing more than spending time outdoors capturing moments. It forces me to slow down and really look what is around me. My posts will often include these images, offering a glimpse into my adventures and the wonders I encounter.
The focus of my posts will be on the Isle of Man, as I aim to highlight the incredible wildlife we have here. Occasionally, I may write about other places I’ve visited, but my focus lies in showcasing the natural treasures close to home. My goal is to help others see that you don’t have to travel far to find remarkable beauty. There is as much to marvel at here as in more ‘exotic’ locations.
I want this blog to be a celebration of the wonder that lies in our everyday experiences. I hope you will join me on this journey of daily discovery, adventure and appreciation for the natural word that surrounds us.
